University of Transport Technology Ranked 37th in Vietnam in the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2025

According to the recently published results of the 2025 SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR), the University of Transport Technology (UTT) continues to be recognized among Vietnam’s leading higher education and research institutions. Out of 53 universities and research institutes in Vietnam included in this year’s ranking, UTT is ranked 37th. This achievement reaffirms the University’s strategic direction in promoting scientific research, fostering innovation, and advancing international integration.

The SCImago Institutions Rankings is a prestigious global academic ranking system conducted annually by the SCImago Research Group (Spain), based on data from Elsevier’s Scopus database. The ranking evaluates institutions across three major criteria: research performance (50% of the total score), innovation outputs (30%), and societal impact (20%). Assessment indicators cover the volume and quality of international publications, citation metrics, academic collaboration, number of patents, as well as online visibility and digital presence.

UTT’s national ranking of 37th in SCImago 2025 highlights the University’s continuous efforts to strengthen its research capacity and increase international publications. This is an important milestone contributing to the enhancement of UTT’s academic standing both domestically and internationally. Earlier, in the Vietnam Universities Ranking (VNUR 2025), UTT was listed among the Top 5 engineering-focused universities nationwide. Recognition from both a national ranking and an international ranking system demonstrates consistent acknowledgment of the University’s academic quality and capabilities.

Additionally, a major milestone achieved in the past year was the acceptance of the Journal of Science and Transport Technology (JSTT) — an academic journal published by UTT — into the Scopus database. Inclusion in one of the world’s most prestigious scientific indexing systems not only strengthens the University’s academic reputation but also creates significant opportunities for lecturers and researchers within and beyond the institution to enhance collaboration and access internationally recognized publication platforms.

These remarkable achievements in 2025 strongly affirm the University of Transport Technology’s commitment to developing a modern applied university model, closely linking education, scientific research, and community service. With a solid foundation in place, UTT is steadily affirming its position as one of Vietnam’s leading applied universities, with a long-term vision of becoming a smart university and a center for scientific research, technology transfer, and international cooperation in the fields of transport and the broader socio-economic sectors.
