The Vietnam University Ranking 2025 (VNUR-2025) was compiled based on a review of 237 Vietnamese higher education institutions, achieved through the processing of big data, including: Three Public Reports, Admission Schemes, ranking data from global systems such as QS, THE, and ARWU, data from the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) regarding national and international accreditation, QS Stars and UPM ratings, and data from Web of Science (WOS) and SCOPUS over a five-year period (2019–2023).

In addition, the ranking also reviewed data regarding science, technology, and patent activities from the Ministry of Science and Technology, data on reputable scientific journals from the State Professorship Council, data on licensed electronic document databases, along with various selectively referenced information from other relevant trusted sources.

The ranking process is carried out through a Standards and Criteria Set comprising 6 standards and 18 selected criteria, which comprehensively reflect the fundamental missions of higher education institutions, such as training, scientific research, and community service.
