Conference on “University Rankings and Solutions to Enhance the Reputation and Position of Higher Education Institutions in the Context of International Integration”
On May 12, 2026, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) organized the conference entitled “University Rankings and Solutions to Enhance the Reputation and Position of Higher Education Institutions in the Context of International Integration”. The event aimed to facilitate discussions and share experiences related to university ranking practices, while proposing solutions to improve educational quality, academic reputation, and the standing of higher education institutions amid the trend of international integration.
Attending the conference, distinguished guests and speakers included Prof. Nguyễn Lộc, former Vice Director of the Vietnam National Institute of Educational Sciences (VNIES); M.A. Nguyễn Vinh San, Head of the Administration Division, University of Education – The University of Danang; and M.A. Tạ Thế Anh, Head of the Testing and Quality Assurance Division, University of Transport Technology. Representing UTT were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Long, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University, the Vice Rectors, along with leaders of various units, research groups, experts, and scientists interested in the topic.
The conference attracted a large number of experts and researchers.
In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Long, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of UTT, emphasized that in the context of continuous innovation and international integration in higher education, quality assurance and educational quality assessment play a crucial role in the sustainable development of higher education institutions. University ranking systems and evaluation criteria, therefore, serve as important reference tools that enable institutions to gain a comprehensive understanding of their performance in areas such as education quality, scientific research, university governance, and responsiveness to societal needs.

Within the framework of the conference, participants engaged in discussions and shared perspectives on issues related to enhancing the reputation, standing, and rankings of higher education institutions in the context of innovation, international integration, and digital transformation. The discussions focused on providing an overall assessment of institutional development, higher education quality evaluation criteria, and the roles of university governance, quality accreditation, education and training, scientific research, technology transfer, international cooperation, and faculty development in strengthening the competitiveness of higher education institutions.
The conference also served as a forum for scientists, experts, lecturers, and administrators to exchange practical experiences, identify opportunities and challenges, and propose appropriate solutions to improve the quality of university operations in a modern, sustainable, and internationally integrated direction. Through presentations and discussions, the event contributed to raising awareness of university rankings as an important reference tool for governance, quality enhancement, and affirming the reputation and position of higher education institutions within both the Vietnamese and international higher education systems.
