UTT Students Join the 2026 New Generation Students Programme on VTV3

After successfully passing the selection round involving universities nationwide, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) team secured a place among the Top 4 representatives from Northern Vietnam, officially advancing to the filming stage of “New Generation Students 2026”, a reality television programme organised by Vietnam Television (VTV). The UTT team is participating with its AquaGuard AIoT project, which aims to apply technology to address practical challenges in aquaculture.

On 8 October 2026, Vietnam Television introduced the fourth season of “New Generation Students” under the theme “Local Challenges, Vietnamese Gen Z Solutions”. Attending the event were journalist Dinh Tran Viet - Head of the Culture and Entertainment Department; journalist Phan Lac Long - Deputy Head of the Culture and Entertainment Department; along with representatives of partner organisations, the judging panel and participating teams.

A new feature of this year's competition is that teams are required not only to propose ideas but also to conduct field surveys, engage directly with communities, test their solutions and make adjustments throughout implementation. Projects are encouraged to originate from specific local needs, bringing students' knowledge and innovative ideas closer to everyday life.

According to the Organising Committee, eight teams will officially participate in the televised competition, progressing through four stages: Introduction; Stage Performance and Critical Debate; Fieldwork; and the Grand Final. Each project's results will be evaluated not only through on-stage presentations but also based on implementation capabilities, feedback from beneficiaries and the adjustments made by teams in real-world conditions.

The UTT team is entering the competition with its AquaGuard AIoT project. The team aims to develop a technological solution for aquaculture farmers while directly exploring their needs, listening to feedback and gradually verifying the system's effectiveness under practical operating conditions. This is also a key challenge for the UTT team as it works to transform a technological idea into a solution that can be applied in everyday life.

Through each stage of the competition, team members will gain valuable experience in bringing university-based research and innovation closer to the community.

“New Generation Students 2026” will air on VTV3 at 9:30 PM every Saturday, starting from 17 October 2026. Tune in and support the University of Transport Technology team on its journey under the theme “Local Challenges, Vietnamese Gen Z Solutions”.
