The research solution "Static height warning system applied in waterway transportation" by Prof. Dr. Dao Van Dong, Dr. Le Nguyen Khuong, Dr. Tran Anh Binh achieved the 14th National Technical Innovation Award (VIFOTEC) and the WIPO Award in 2017.

INFORMATION ON SOLUTION:

From the current situation in each country in our country there are about 10 ÷ 15 cases of watercraft hit the bridge over the river, the location occurs often in the bridge with low static height and narrow aperture. Most of these accidents have caused serious consequences on people and property, many accidents have caused road traffic, railway and waterway paralysis, causing great economic and social losses. Especially there are bridges collided many times such as Duong bridge (Hanoi), Binh Loi bridge (Ho Chi Minh city) and recent ships 3000 tons crashed in An Thai bridge (Hai Duong), causing collapse of bridge and Barges carrying sand collapsed Ghenh Bridge (Dong Nai). The regulation to ensure traffic for ships and boats when crossing bridges still uses the traditional method of arrangement of upstream and downstream stations. Due to the unsuccessful application of new scientific and technological achievements, the cost is very expensive and the efficiency is not high. In the country up to now, there are no solutions to warnings to the owners of vehicles with height beyond the static height does not allow. With the idea of using laser technology to detect vehicles in excess of static altitude, the research team has proposed and developed a successful early warning system for ships with height restrictions violating static limits. No of bridges, with the hope of minimizing accidents and improving management efficiency in inland waterways. The system is a set of electronic devices designed and manufactured by the group for the purpose of providing a proactive alert, warning to the navigators of a static vehicle. bridge. This product helps to minimize the number of accidents in ships that exceeds the allowable height and sink under the bridge. The team used technologies such as Laser, IoT (Internet of Things), embedded programming, smartphone programming, radio frequency communication, ultrasonic water level measurement. The product is powered by solar cells and works well in a variety of weather conditions (rain, sun, fog). The LAWA-UTT warning system was built and successfully tested at the University of Transport Technology. By the end of 2016, the system has been approved by the Vietnam Inland Waterway Administration for installation at Duong bridge - Hanoi. In the beginning of 2017, in order to enhance the application of technology in vehicle management and minimizing accidents caused by boat height violation, Nam Dinh Department of Transport approved the solution and invested in the whole installation. System for Do Quan, Nam Dinh. The system has been registered for utility solution (October 2016) at the National Office of Intellectual Property.
