Cooperation in Training - A New Step Forward in the Human Resource Development Strategy of the Railway Sector

On March 27, a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement between the University of Transport and Communications Technology (UTT) and Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company (TRV) took place at UTT. This marks a new direction in training and developing high-quality human resources for the railway sector, especially in the field of high-speed railways.

The ceremony was chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Long, Rector of the University.

Attending from Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company (TRV) were:

  • Ms. Trần Thị Huệ Chi – Chairwoman of the Board of Directors
  • Mr. Trần Đình Khải Hoàn – Board Member and Deputy General Director
  • Mr. Nguyễn Đức Tiến – Deputy General Director
  • Dr. Nguyễn Văn Bính – Consultant, Railway Technology Research and Development Institute along with other Board members, heads of departments/divisions, and specialists.

  • Dr. Ngô Thị Thanh Hương – Head of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation together with representatives from the Training Department, Faculty of Transport Economics, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Construction Engineering, the High-Speed Railway Center, as well as lecturers and students majoring in Transport Organization and Management and Railway Construction Engineering Technology who attended the event with great interest.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Long, with a team of highly qualified and dedicated lecturers and scientists who are focusing on in-depth research in key areas of the railway sector such as infrastructure, rolling stock, transport operations, etc., this serves as a solid foundation for the University to enhance the quality of training and research, gradually master advanced technologies, and effectively contribute to the development of the industry.

In particular, in the context where the transport sector is facing strong demands for innovation, the University always places great emphasis on close collaboration with domestic and international enterprises. This aims to build a practical-oriented training model that flexibly adapts to modern technological trends, while creating sustainable value for learners and the society as a whole.

From the TRV side, Ms. Trần Thị Huệ Chi – Chairwoman of the Board of Directors – shared the company’s development orientation toward modernizing railway transport operations, while expressing the desire to partner with UTT in training, research, and the application of new technologies.

As an enterprise operating in railway logistics, wagon manufacturing and operation, training, and project appraisal consulting for railway projects, TRV is currently expanding cooperative relationships with South Korea, Japan, China, and Australia – countries that are global leaders in high-speed railway technology.

According to the signed agreement, the two parties commit to comprehensive cooperation in various fields such as jointly developing and implementing specialized in-depth training programs on high-speed railways; recruiting, training and upskilling human resources for the railway sector through formal education systems, short-term courses and work-integrated learning programs, while ensuring employment opportunities for students after graduation; providing conditions for students to participate in internships and directly engage in domestic and international real-world projects. At the same time, both sides will collaborate on research, application and transfer of new technologies in the design, construction and operation of modern railway systems, as well as organize professional seminars and other related specialized activities.

In its leading role in education, UTT will fully provide facilities, equipment, and teaching staff to support training activities, develop curricula, and implement related programs. Meanwhile, TRV will act as the international bridge, supplying experts and curricula from foreign organizations, and connecting with domestic and international agencies to ensure high-quality employment outcomes for students and trainees.

It is hoped that the cooperation between the University of Transport Technology (UTT) and Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company (TRV) will open up many new development opportunities in training, research, and the application of modern technologies, thereby contributing to promoting the modernization of Vietnam’s railway sector, particularly in the field of high-speed railways.
