Strengthening Research Collaboration with the Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute (JTTRI)

On March 11, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) held a working session with a delegation from the Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute (JTTRI). The meeting aimed to exchange and discuss opportunities for collaboration in scientific research, education, and the development of transport technologies between the two institutions. 

Overview of the working session

Representing the University of Transport Technology were Dr. Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng – Vice Rector; Dr. Vũ Trung Hiếu – Deputy Head of the Office of Science, Technology and International Cooperation; Dr. Phùng Bá Thắng – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering; Dr. Nguyễn Văn Đăng – Acting Director of the High-Speed Railway Center; Dr. Hoàng Vũ – Deputy Director of the High-Speed Railway Center.

Representing JTTRI were Mr. Yoshida Shoji – Senior Researcher, Senior Director of the Department of International Relations; Mr. Takamatsu Shunsuke – Researcher; Mr. Hồ Sĩ Quốc – Researcher.

Delivering remarks at the meeting, Dr. Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng – Vice Rector of UTT, emphasized: “The University of Transport Technology always seeks to enhance cooperation with international research organizations, especially in the fields of transport and tourism. We believe that collaboration with JTTRI will open up numerous opportunities for scientific research, technological application, and high-quality human resource training, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s transport sector.”

On behalf of JTTRI, Mr. Yoshida Shoji expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm welcome from UTT. He stated: “JTTRI is always looking for potential partners to expand research collaboration and academic exchange. We are truly impressed with UTT’s achievements in research and education. We hope that in the near future, both sides will jointly implement specific collaborative projects, particularly in urban transportation, high-speed railway systems, and sustainable development.”

This working session laid the groundwork for a comprehensive and long-term partnership between the University of Transport Technology and the Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute (JTTRI). Both parties agreed to continue discussions and explore specific cooperation opportunities in the near future, particularly in scientific research, education, and the application of innovative technologies in transportation. This will serve as an important starting point to promote a sustainable partnership, contributing to the development of a more modern and efficient transportation system in the future.
