UTT leadership welcomes and collaborates with Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)
On the morning of November 20, the University of Transport Technology hosted a meeting with representatives from the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) to discuss potential collaboration in the field of transport education for the new academic year.
Representing the university were Associate Professor Dr. Vũ Ngọc Khiêm, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng, Vice Rector; along with faculty members from the Science and Technology and International Cooperation Department, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Institute of Innovation and Digital Economy, and the Center for Training and Consulting for International Study and Employment.
From the Department of Market Development and Technology Enterprises under the Ministry of Science and Technology (NATEC), Mrs. Bùi Thanh Hằng was present, responsible for international cooperation.
From the Singapore Institute of Technology, the delegation included Professor Chua Kee Chaing, Chairman and Head of the delegation; Mr. Bernard Nee, Vice President in charge of the Group and Community; Professor Intan Azura Mokhtar, Deputy Director of the Social Innovation Center and Community Leader; Mr. Andrew Chia, Director of Global Experience; and Mr. Dave Lim, Deputy Director of Global Experience.

Overview of the working session with Singapore Institute of Technology
During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vũ Ngọc Khiêm emphasized that in the process of training and development, the university places great importance on collaboration with schools, institutes, and companies both domestically and internationally. This collaboration serves as a foundation for enhancing the quality of education and elevating the university's brand and reputation. Recently, the university has established many effective partnerships with foreign entities, including Japan, Germany, Poland, and the European Commission. Through these collaborations, the university has implemented several international projects, organized many prestigious international seminars, and facilitated the exchange of faculty members and students with partners.
It is known that the Singapore Institute of Technology is a reputable institution in Singapore across various fields, including areas that align closely with the university's training and research directions, such as Transport Engineering, Building and Infrastructure Engineering, Business and Management, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Therefore, Associate Professor Dr. Vũ Ngọc Khiêm is confident that this collaboration holds significant potential and opportunities to create shared value for both institutions.

During the meeting, Professor Chua Kee Chaing, Chairman and Head of the SIT delegation, expressed his happiness and honor to visit and work at the university. Through the process of understanding and exchanging ideas, he noted that both sides share many similarities in training philosophy and curriculum. He mentioned that the purpose of this visit is to explore potential collaboration in summer programs and other international student exchange initiatives (such as community projects and social innovation) between the two institutions; to investigate joint projects in applied research and innovation (e.g., digitalization, sustainability, or transport engineering); and, if possible, to facilitate connections or exchanges between faculty members and research institutes.

To help the partners better understand their institution, Mr. Andrew Chia, Director of Global Experience, provided basic information about the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) during the meeting. He noted that SIT is a practice-oriented university established in 2009, offering 39 undergraduate programs and 7 postgraduate programs. As part of its development, SIT has expanded its training collaborations with foreign partners in various engineering fields, focusing on practical knowledge linked to real working environments. The duration of internships is similar to that at UTT, with students having approximately 8-12 months of internship experience in companies. After completing their internships, students can choose their workplace based on their abilities and preferences.

During the meeting, Dr. Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng, Vice Rector of the university, expressed that both institutions could advance further in signing a cooperation agreement regarding student exchanges for study and internships at both institutions. He proposed developing a linked training program, where both sides would select highly qualified lecturers to co-supervise students and trainees with strong language skills from UTT. Additionally, he suggested sharing research projects conducted by faculty and students to enhance training capacity and meet the common needs of society.

At the end of the meeting, the leaders of both institutions agreed to assign their respective specialized departments to continue connecting, exchanging information, and implementing related issues in the collaboration and development process.
