UTT Expands Cooperation with WAYS1 Group (Republic of Korea) in the Field of Intelligent Transportation
On the morning of December 11, 2025, at the University of Transport Technology (UTT), the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between UTT and WAYS1 Group (Republic of Korea) was formally held. Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Long – Rector of the University chaired and signed the MOU, with the participation of representatives of the University’s leadership and functional units.
Attending the signing ceremony on the guest side were Mr. Jin Hong Park – Counsellor in charge of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Embassy of the Republic of Korea, and Mr. Vương Văn Khôi – Project Director, Biển Bạc Joint Stock Company. Representing WAYS1 Group were Mr. Hank Choe – Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jun Chang – Chief Technology Officer, and Mr. Charlie Shim – General Manager.
According to Decision No. 374/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister, the University of Transport Technology is one of 13 higher education institutions nationwide assigned to lead networks of Centers for Excellence and Talent Development in key technology fields through 2030. In this framework, UTT is entrusted with coordinating the network in Advanced and Intelligent Transportation Technology and Infrastructure. Based on this assigned mission, the cooperation agreement with WAYS1 Group represents a concrete step in implementing UTT’s coordinating role, promoting training, scientific research, and technology transfer in the field of intelligent transportation.

According to the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding, the two parties agreed to cooperate in several key areas, including: the development and implementation of technology projects in Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea; joint scientific research and technology transfer; participation in projects supported by the Government of the Republic of Korea and Vietnamese regulatory authorities; organization of technical seminars and training programs; and creating opportunities for UTT students to participate in internships and access career opportunities at international technology enterprises.

The MOU signing ceremony between the University of Transport Technology and WAYS1 Group took place in an open, trusting, and cooperative atmosphere. The event opens up many new prospects for collaboration, contributing to improving training quality, promoting applied research, and strengthening UTT’s position in the process of international integration, toward the development of a modern, intelligent, and sustainable university model.
