UTT and Teesside University (United Kingdom) Launch a Collaborative Project on Digital Construction Management Education
Within the framework of the TNE Exploratory Grants Programme (2026–2027), the educational cooperation project between the University of Transport Technology (UTT) and Teesside University (United Kingdom) has officially been approved for funding by the British Council.
The project is designed to respond to the requirements of Vietnam’s National Digital Transformation Strategy and the Net Zero 2050 commitment. Its core objective is the co-development of a pioneering training programme in Digital Construction Management, integrating key enabling technologies such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Digital Twin technologies.
According to the project document, the two institutions will collaborate on four main components:
- Curriculum Alignment and Co-development: Reviewing and designing a joint curriculum framework to ensure alignment of learning outcomes and to establish a foundation for international credit recognition.
- Institutional Capacity Building: Organising faculty exchanges and transferring digital pedagogy and research expertise from the United Kingdom through a series of specialised training workshops.
- Industry Engagement and Practice-based Learning: Piloting industry-driven training models and implementing short-term professional certification programmes focusing on digital skills.
- Digital Learning Resources Development: Developing an open-access bilingual digital learning platform, enabling the sharing of academic and professional resources across partner university networks.
The project will be implemented over 17 months, from January 2026 to May 2027. This collaboration is expected to contribute significantly to the internationalisation of academic programmes and to enhance the institutional profile of UTT within the regional and global higher education landscape.
