UTT Has Two Journals Listed Among Vietnam’s Accredited Scientific Journals in 2026

On April 28, 2026, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued Decision No. 2244/QĐ-BKHCN approving the List of journals meeting Vietnam’s scientific standards in 2026. Two scientific journals of the University of Transport Technology (UTT) were honored to be included in this list.

This marks the first time the Ministry of Science and Technology has compiled a national list of Vietnamese journals publishing scientific articles, with evaluation conducted based on the criteria stipulated in Circular No. 27/2025/TT-BKHCN on scientific articles and the assessment and ranking of Vietnamese scientific journals. The list includes a total of 341 journals, comprising both internationally indexed journals and domestic journals, representing a significant step forward in standardizing scientific publishing in Vietnam.

According to the announcement, the development of this list aims to ensure that journals comply with academic ethics standards, maintain rigorous peer-review processes, and uphold transparency in publication. This is considered an important milestone for the domestic scientific research community, particularly in the context of increasing demands for publication quality.

The Ministry of Science and Technology issued Decision No. 2244/QĐ-BKHCN on the List of journals meeting Vietnam’s scientific standards in 2026.

In this list, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) has two recognized journals: the Journal of Science and Transport Technology (JSTT - ISSN 2734-9950), ranked 14th—among 16 Vietnamese journals indexed internationally (SCOPUS, WoS); and the Journal of Science and Transport Technology (Electronic Edition) (ISSN: 2734-9942), ranked 151st—among domestic journals meeting Vietnam’s scientific standards.

Trong danh mục này, Trường Đại học Công nghệ Giao thông vận tải (UTT) có 2 tạp chí được ghi nhận, gồm Journal of Science and Transport Technology (JSTT - ISSN 2734-9950), số thứ tự 14 – thuộc nhóm 16 tạp chí của Việt Nam được chỉ mục quốc tế (SCOPUS, WoS) và Tạp chí điện tử Khoa học và Công nghệ Giao thông (ISSN: 2734-9942), số thứ tự 151 – thuộc nhóm tạp chí trong nước đạt tiêu chuẩn khoa học Việt Nam.

The Journal of Science and Transport Technology (Rank 14) of UTT is one of 16 Vietnamese journals indexed internationally (SCOPUS, WoS).

The Journal of Science and Transport Technology (Electronic Edition) (Rank 151) is among domestic journals meeting Vietnam’s scientific standards.

After only three years of establishment, on February 2, 2025, the Journal of Science and Transport Technology (JSTT) was officially accepted for indexing in Scopus—one of the world’s leading scientific databases. JSTT is among the few journals in Vietnam where the university itself serves as both the governing body and the publisher recognized internationally. This autonomy in publishing ensures academic quality while reflecting UTT’s clear strategic direction in research and international publication. Notably, just one year after joining Scopus, the journal was ranked Q3 according to the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR), within the field of engineering sciences, including civil engineering, infrastructure engineering, material mechanics, and related disciplines.

This achievement aligns with the orientation set out in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, which emphasizes the pivotal role of science and technology in national development. At the same time, it concretizes the implementation of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on advancing education and training, aiming to improve the quality of higher education, promote research, and strengthen international integration.

The University’s scientific journals play an important role in disseminating knowledge, promoting international publications, and enhancing the research capacity of lecturers, experts, and scientists. Published content focuses on the University’s key strengths, including transport, infrastructure, engineering technology, and interdisciplinary research areas. In parallel, editorial and peer-review processes are conducted rigorously and transparently, ensuring objectivity and reliability of scientific works. Compliance with academic ethics, citation standards, and publication regulations is also strictly maintained.

Being included in the List of journals meeting Vietnam’s scientific standards in 2026 further affirms the University’s strategic orientation in scientific research development, while providing a solid foundation for improving publication quality, expanding collaboration, and enhancing international integration in the coming period.
