Summary of the internship program for Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (Japan) students at UTT

On March 17, 2023, at the Hanoi campus of the University of Transport Technology (UTT), a closing ceremony for the internship program of students from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan, took place. This program, a collaboration between the ABROADER Center and UTT, provided Japanese students with the opportunity to study and learn about Vietnamese culture.

The program was attended by three students from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), Japan: Rio Ikeda, Chisato Tsujimoto, and Kai Ashida. Representing UTT were Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, the Vice Rector; Dr. Ngo Quoc Trinh, Head of the Department of Science and International Cooperation; representatives from partner enterprises, as well as faculty members and students participating in the Japanese training program at UTT.

During the conclusion of the internship program, the three students from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) presented their reports, sharing memorable moments and experiences from their time in Vietnam and throughout the internship. The program lasted one month, from February 20 to March 17, 2023, at the University of Transport Technology (UTT).
During their stay, the students participated in teaching Japanese to UTT students in the "Japanese Standards" classes, cultural exchange programs, traditional games, and learning about Vietnamese cuisine. They also toured the Vĩnh Phúc campus of UTT.
The students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the university leadership for their warm hospitality and support, which allowed them to gain practical experience and deepen their understanding of Vietnamese culture. They developed skills such as communication, presentation, time management, and independence. They found UTT students to be friendly and proactive in their learning, though they acknowledged some challenges in communicating in Japanese. However, they are optimistic about making positive progress in the future.
At the end of the program, Dr. Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng, the university's representative, awarded certificates to the APU interns. The university hopes to create more opportunities for collaboration with Japanese student delegations, strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and Japan.
