UTT Students Proactively Integrate into the New Era Based on Ho Chi Minh Thought: A New Approach to Political Theory Education Linking Theory with Practice

On the occasion of the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2026), the University of Transport Technology (UTT) organized a thematic seminar entitled "UTT Students Proactively Integrate into the New Era Based on Ho Chi Minh Thought" on May 13, 2026, for participants of the 2026 Party admission training course.

Attending the event were Dr. Pham Quang Dung, Deputy Head of the Training Division; Mr. Phung Cong Dung, Secretary of the Youth Union; Dr. Pham Van Tan, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Politics; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thom, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law and Politics; along with representatives from academic divisions within the Faculty. The thematic presentations were delivered by Senior Lecturer Dr. Vu Thi Kieu Ly and Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, with the participation of lecturers, attendees of the K38A Political Theory Training Course for Party Admission Candidates, and numerous UTT students.

Dr. Pham Van Tan, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Politics, shared his perspectives at the event.

During the seminar, Senior Lecturer Dr. Vu Thi Kieu Ly emphasized that today's younger generation is living in a period of rapid technological advancement, which creates numerous opportunities while also presenting significant challenges. This context requires students to continuously cultivate political awareness, independent thinking, self-reliance, creativity, and a strong sense of responsibility to meet the demands of the new era.

Amid the profound transformations of contemporary society, Ho Chi Minh Thought continues to retain its enduring relevance. It serves not only as a political and ideological foundation but also as a guiding principle for the lifestyle, character development, self-learning spirit, and aspiration to contribute among Vietnamese youth.

Drawing from practical stories about President Ho Chi Minh's journey to seek a path for national salvation, the speaker highlighted that self-directed learning remains a core competency for young people in every era. Regardless of the circumstances, President Ho Chi Minh consistently pursued lifelong learning from practical experiences, from the people, and through work itself. This message carries particular significance for today's students: learning should not merely be for obtaining qualifications but also for enhancing competencies, developing character, and preparing for active participation in society.

Senior Lecturer Dr. Vu Thi Kieu Ly discussed the role of Ho Chi Minh Thought in shaping political steadfastness, the spirit of self-learning, and the sense of responsibility among UTT students in the new era.

Through the thematic discussion, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha noted that in recent years, UTT students have demonstrated remarkable initiative, creativity, and responsibility in both academic pursuits and social activities. Many students have not only achieved excellent academic results but have also actively engaged in scientific research, innovative entrepreneurship, foreign language learning, exploration of new technologies, volunteer activities, and community support through social welfare initiatives.

The practical experience at the University of Transport Technology indicates that today's students are increasingly proactive in learning, conducting research, and participating in community activities, thereby demonstrating their sense of responsibility toward themselves, the University, and society.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha shared insights into the proactive spirit, creativity, and responsibility demonstrated by UTT students in their studies and community engagement.

The speakers also emphasized that in the digital age, students need more than professional knowledge. They must equip themselves with adaptability, digital competencies, international integration capabilities, and innovative thinking. These requirements are particularly urgent for UTT students, who are future engineers and graduates in the fields of transportation, technology, logistics, and infrastructure.
