UTT and Gustave Eiffel University (France) Strengthen Cooperation in Training and Scientific Research
On the morning of June 19, 2025, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) welcomed a delegation from Gustave Eiffel University (France), led by Professor Jean Marc Laheurte – Vice President of the university, for an official visit and working session. Attending the meeting from UTT were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Long – Rector of the University, along with leaders of the Institute of International Training and Cooperation, the Training Department, and the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation.

In his remarks at the session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Long emphasized the critical role of international collaboration in enhancing the quality of education and scientific research. The Rector expressed high expectations for the continued development of the partnership between the two universities, particularly in UTT’s key areas of strength such as smart transportation, information technology, mechatronics, logistics, and high-speed rail.

During the meeting, the two sides held in-depth discussions on potential areas of collaboration, including faculty and student exchanges, joint supervision of PhD students, co-organization of scientific conferences, and co-publication of research in reputable international journals. In the near future, cooperation will be promoted in fields such as railway and high-speed rail, with a view to gradually expanding collaboration to other areas including nuclear power and renewable energy.

Both universities also agreed to promote new joint programs, such as a 2+2 dual-degree undergraduate model in Smart Transportation and a Master's program in France aligned with UTT’s training orientation. These initiatives aim to broaden international learning and internship opportunities for students while enhancing professional qualifications and global integration capacity.

In the field of scientific research, both parties committed to strengthening support for faculty and PhD students to jointly participate in collaborative projects, particularly at the partner institution’s research centers. UTT will also welcome leading experts from Gustave Eiffel University for short- and long-term stays to teach, conduct research, and supervise doctoral candidates, contributing to the enhancement of UTT’s research and academic capacity.

The working session took place in a cordial, open, and productive atmosphere, opening up numerous opportunities for future cooperation and contributing to the internationalization of education and research at the University of Transport Technology.
