Overview of the signing ceremony between UTT and VNR
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Long emphasized that this agreement marked an important step towards structured cooperation between the two sides, with clear roadmaps and specific plans aimed at achieving tangible outcomes. The collaboration provides a valuable opportunity for both parties to strengthen joint efforts in training, human resource development, scientific research, and strategic consulting, thereby contributing to elevating the status of both institutions.
Currently, UTT's railway-related training focuses on four core areas: infrastructure, locomotives and rolling stock, transport operations, and transport management. Over the years, the university has continuously updated its curricula in alignment with industry demands, ensuring modernity and consistency with the development trends of the railway system. UTT also prioritizes the expansion and quality enhancement of its academic programs, faculty development, infrastructure investment, and innovation in teaching methodologies, laying a solid foundation for high-quality human resource training.

According to Mr. Hoàng Gia Khánh, General Director of VNR, the Party and Government are placing special emphasis on railway development with the goal of building a modern and synchronized rail transport system to foster rapid and sustainable socio-economic growth. The advancement of science and technology, digital transformation, and human resource development are seen as decisive factors in the successful implementation of VNR’s key projects and missions.
VNR is actively implementing Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in national science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; the VNR Science and Technology Application Program for the 2019–2030 period; and preparing human resources to meet projected demands in the areas of management, consulting, and construction, including approximately 21,000 engineers, 700 master's holders, and 50 PhDs. For operations, exploitation, and maintenance, the projected needs include about 3,000 engineers, 75 master's holders, and 25 PhDs. Therefore, cooperation with domestic and international universities and research institutions specializing in railways is a top priority for VNR.

Previously, VNR and UTT had a long-standing partnership, with many VNR officials having been trained at the university. Since 2017, the two sides have signed and implemented cooperation agreements, regularly exchanged information, and participated in each other’s events and workshops. Since 2023, UTT has signed a cooperation agreement and established training linkages with the Railway College – a VNR subsidiary – to implement engineer training programs for six cohorts comprising 159 students in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as two master's programs for 48 students in the fields of railway bridge construction and transport management.

At the event, leaders of the two institutions discussed and agreed on key areas of collaboration, including human resource development, research and technology transfer, organization of scientific conferences, training and internships for students, as well as community engagement activities. UTT will support the training of VNR’s personnel, while VNR will facilitate UTT students in internships, career orientation, and recruitment. Both parties also agreed to cooperate in applied research on new technologies, improving the performance of equipment systems, and organizing thematic scientific conferences on high-speed railways.

Representatives from UTT and VNR sign the cooperation agreement
The signing of the cooperation agreement between UTT and VNR marks the beginning of numerous practical collaborative programs in the future, contributing to enhanced training, research, and real-world applications in the railway sector, particularly in the context of implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
To realize the contents of the cooperation agreement and advance the development of high-speed railways, UTT announced the establishment of the High-Speed Railway Center during the event. This marks a significant milestone in the research and application of modern transport technologies. The Center aims to bridge theory with practice, promote the implementation of high-speed railways in Vietnam, and elevate the university's position through international cooperation, expert engagement, and high-quality human resource training.
