UTT Promotes Cooperation with Australian Partners in Training, Research, and Student Support
On October 28th, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) hosted a reception and working session with a delegation representing Australian agencies, universities/institutes, and businesses to promote collaboration in training, scientific research, technology transfer, and support for student internships and employment.
Attending on behalf of UTT were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Khiem – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Nguyen Quang Anh – Director of the Institute of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering; Dr. Chu Thi Bich Hanh – Vice Dean in charge of the Faculty of Management; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thai Binh – Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Science and Transport Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Quan – Vice Director of the Institute of Training & International Cooperation; along with representatives from other departments of the University.
The Australian delegation included Mr. Nguyen Manh Hiep – Trade Consul, Vietnam Trade Office in Australia; Mr. David Liu – Head of Business Development, Australian National Institute of Management and Commerce; Mr. Michael Grace – Manager of Pedders Suspension & Brakes; Mr. Do Quoc Dat – Head of Business Department, Auschain Pty Ltd; Ms. Tran Thi Lan Huong – Head of Policy Advocacy & Partnership, AusCham Vietnam; and Mr. Frank Angotti – Vice President of Business Development, Key Options Group.
In his welcoming speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Khiem expressed his pleasure in receiving the Australian partners at UTT. He emphasized that the University prioritizes collaboration aligned with the practical needs of enterprises, viewing it as a strategic approach to enhance training quality, expand internship and employment opportunities for students, and promote high-application research and technology transfer. UTT aims to broaden international cooperation in dual-degree programs, faculty and student exchanges, and to strengthen research in the fields of mechanical and automotive engineering, intelligent transport, and modern management.

Representatives of the Australian delegation expressed agreement with UTT’s development orientation and highly appreciated the University’s practical vision and collaborative capacity. Delegates shared their desire to jointly implement various practical activities with UTT, including connecting academic and business networks between Vietnam and Australia; organizing thematic seminars; inviting industry experts to teach and share experiences; coordinating the development of internship programs, corporate semesters, and job fairs; as well as collaborating on applied research topics in mechanical engineering, automotive, logistics, transport optimization, warehouse management, traceability, and the application of data and artificial intelligence in intelligent transportation.

At the conclusion of the working session, both sides agreed to assign professional focal points to continue exchanges in order to finalize detailed plans and implement them in the near future.
