UTT Promotes Training and Research Cooperation with Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR, Russian Federation)

On the morning of March 27, 2026, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) held a meeting and working session with Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR, Russian Federation) to exchange and orient cooperation in training and scientific research.

Attending the meeting, on the side of the University of Transport Technology were Dr. Trần Thanh An – Vice Rector, along with representatives and staff of relevant units: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngô Thị Thanh Hương – Head of Office of Science, Technology and International Cooperation; Dr. Ngô Chí Luận – Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, together with lecturers from the Faculty of Information Technology. On the side of TUSUR were Ms. Yulia Vladimirovna Gasheva – Head of International Cooperation Office; and Dr. Phùng Trọng Toàn – Secretary to the Director of the Russian Science and Culture Center in Hanoi.

At the meeting, Dr. Trần Thanh An – Vice Rector introduced an overview of the University’s development process, key training fields, and outstanding achievements in recent years. UTT also expressed its desire to strengthen cooperation with TUSUR in training and scientific research, particularly in developing joint training programs, student and lecturer exchange, and implementing scientific and technological projects in the field of information technology.

During the discussion, representatives of the Faculty of Information Technology emphasized the orientation toward collaborative research and joint international publications, while expressing interest in receiving support from TUSUR in specialized areas such as semiconductor microchips, radio electronics, and high-speed rail.

From the TUSUR side, representatives expressed interest in strengthening research collaboration, particularly in international publications indexed in Scopus. Both sides also discussed the potential for lecturer and student exchanges, initially through online learning and research programs, with a view to expanding to direct exchange activities in the near future.

Notably, TUSUR representatives indicated that in May 2026, the Rector of TUSUR is expected to visit Vietnam, during which both sides will sign an official cooperation agreement, establishing a legal foundation for long-term collaboration. In addition, TUSUR shared experience in developing and operating student incubator models, opening new directions for cooperation in supporting entrepreneurship and innovation. From UTT’s side, the University also proposed enhancing student support activities, particularly internship opportunities at enterprises in the Russian Federation through TUSUR’s connections.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed on the orientation to develop joint research programs focusing on the application of information technology in the construction sector, and to continue discussing and finalizing specific cooperation contents in the coming time.

The meeting marked an important initial step in promoting cooperation between the University of Transport Technology and TUSUR, contributing to expanding international partnerships and enhancing the quality of training and scientific research in the context of global integration.
