Opening Ceremony of the Official Survey for External Assessment of Training Programs at the University of Transport Technology

On the morning of April 5, the University of Transport Technology (UTT), in collaboration with the Thang Long Education Quality Accreditation Center, held the Opening Ceremony of the Official Survey for the external assessment of 11 undergraduate training programs.

The official survey is scheduled to take place from April 5 to April 9, 2024. Earlier, on March 26, the External Assessment Expert Team conducted a preliminary survey at the University.

In attendance from the Thang Long Education Quality Accreditation Center were Dr. Nguyen Van Duong – Director; Dr. Phi Thi Nguyet Thanh – Deputy Director; and Mr. Le Van An – Supervising Expert.

From the External Assessment Team were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Anh – Former Deputy Director of Hue University, Head of External Assessment Team 1; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Thi Thuy Hang – Standing Member; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duy Cam – Former Rector of the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Head of External Assessment Team 2; Dr. Pham Minh Dam – Head of the Department of Educational Quality Assessment and Accreditation, Thang Long Education Quality Accreditation Center, Secretary of the Assessment Team; together with other members responsible for evaluating the training programs.

Representing the University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Khiem – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long – Rector, Chairman of the Self-Assessment Council; Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung – Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Van Lam – Vice Rector; and Dr. Tran Ha Thanh – Vice Rector, along with the Chair of the Trade Union, Secretary of the Youth Union, members of the Self-Assessment Council, the Secretariat, specialized working groups, unit leaders across the University, as well as representatives of lecturers, students, learners, and invited guests.

Overview of the Opening Ceremony

Dr. Pham Minh Dam – Head of the Department of Educational Quality Assessment and Accreditation, Thang Long Education Quality Accreditation Center, Secretary of the External Assessment Team – announced the decisions on establishing the External Assessment Team for the 11 training programs.

Delivering the opening remarks, Dr. Phi Thi Nguyet Thanh – Deputy Director of the Thang Long Education Quality Accreditation Center – highly appreciated the University’s efforts in implementing quality assurance activities, quality accreditation, and continuous improvement. She emphasized that these efforts reflect the strong commitment of the University’s leadership, lecturers, and staff to social responsibility, thereby contributing to enhancing UTT’s reputation and brand. To ensure the effectiveness of this external assessment, the Center has appointed experienced experts and assessors in the field of education, training, and quality accreditation to the assessment teams.

On behalf of the Self-Assessment Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long – Rector of the University – delivered an overview report on the 11 programs undergoing accreditation, including: Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology, Accounting, Construction Economics, Transportation Operation, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Finance and Banking, and E-commerce.

According to the working agenda, the External Assessment Expert Team will conduct on-site inspections of offices responsible for program delivery, classrooms, practice rooms, laboratories, and computer labs; interview stakeholders; review documents and evidence; and work with relevant units. The survey will take place from today until April 9, 2024.
