UTT Student Team Secures Top 3 Position at the International Cybersecurity Arena – Moscow Capture The Flag (M*CTF) 2025
At the international cybersecurity arena Moscow Capture The Flag (M*CTF) 2025, the student team of the University of Transport Technology (UTT) excelled in surpassing strong competitors from Russia, China, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam to win Third Place in the Attack & Defense category.
The team consists of students Vũ Mạnh Chiến (class 72DCHT21), Trần Bảo Anh (class 72DCHT21), Phan Văn Tùng (class 73DCHT21), Bùi Hiền Trang (class 73DCHT21), and Đinh Hoàng Đức (class 74DCHT23) from the Faculty of Information Technology, under the supervision of Dr. Đỗ Bảo Sơn and Dr. Dương Xuân Núi, lecturers of the Faculty of Information Technology.
M*CTF is one of the most prestigious cybersecurity Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions worldwide, designed for students and international academic teams. It is a high-tech arena where teams must tackle real-world security challenges—from vulnerability exploitation and system defense to advanced technical analysis—requiring extensive technical skills and outstanding strategic thinking. The competition attracts teams from multiple countries, reflecting the strong competitiveness and international integration of the global cybersecurity community.

In the M*CTF 2025 ranking, the Top 3 teams in the Attack & Defense category are: PTIT – Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (Vietnam); MTUCI – Moscow Technical University of Communication and Informatics (Russia); UTT – University of Transport Technology (Vietnam)
This achievement marks a proud milestone for UTT, affirming the students’ professional competence, strong mindset, and rapid response skills in a highly competitive international environment.
