UTT Celebrates 2024 Bunpimay Traditional New Year with Lao International Students
On April 13, 2024, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) held a celebration for the Bunpimay Traditional New Year 2024 for Lao international students currently studying and conducting research at the university.
Attending the event were Mr. Khamtanh Samvong, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Vietnam; from the university side were Dr. Ngô Quốc Trinh, Head of the Training Department; Dr. Hoàng Văn Lâm, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Transport Engineering; along with representatives from various departments and faculties, and all Lao students currently studying at UTT.

Delivering New Year greetings, UTT faculty members extended their warmest wishes for the 2024 Bunpimay Festival to the Lao students, expressing hope that the long-standing friendship and solidarity between the Parties, States, and peoples of Vietnam and Laos will continue to flourish.
The Lao students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the university staff for their ongoing care and support in all aspects of student life, which enables them to focus fully on their studies. They also pledged to stay united and strive alongside Vietnamese students, actively engaging in learning and self-improvement to achieve the highest academic results in the upcoming academic year.
Earlier, on April 11, at UTT’s Vĩnh Phúc campus, Lao students participated in an extracurricular field trip to the Lao Revolutionary Historical Site in Mỹ Bằng commune and attended an exchange event for over 150 Lao international students from various colleges and universities in Vĩnh Phúc province, organized by the Vĩnh Phúc Department of Foreign Affairs.
The delegation visited the Lao Revolutionary Historical Site in Đá Bàn hamlet, Ngòi village, Mỹ Bằng commune, where Prince Souphavong and President Kaysone Phomvihane lived and worked from June 1950 to late 1951. This location witnessed important milestones in the Lao revolution and is a symbol of the special Vietnam–Laos friendship.
