Civil Engineering Research in University Of Transport Technology

Welcome to Civil Engineering Research

Civil Engineering Research is part of the Department of Civil Engineering at University of Transport Technology. The Department pocesses an outstanding reputation for Expressway Construction Laboratory which was supported by Japanese Government (JICA). The laboratory is one of the few contrywide laboratory where most difficult Civil Engineering tests are implemented and studied.

The research is organised as in following topics:

- Reinforce, strengthen weak ground base;

- Assess the reliability of road, hard wall structures;

- Technology of building, construction, manufacturing and recycling materials in transportation;

- Develop design, construction and inspection standards for traffic works;

- Make use of construction waste in repair, foundation construction of auto ways;

- The effect of climate on road base construction in Vietnam;

- Applications of DCP test (Dynamic cone penetrometer) in the assessing the strength of old road base in the location of box culvert and temporary abutments in Vietnam’s conditions;

- Develop road infrastructure in Vietnam;

-  The issues of load capacity, structure, stability of road base and traffic works;

- The status of reinforced concrete bridges and evaluate the remaining life of bridges;

- Apply the maximum principle Gauss to solve the statically indeterminate sound  system problem in structural mechanics;

- Develop manuals for emission evaluation and pollution control of road vehicles;

- Design and manufacture CBR testing machine to identify the indicators of soil, gravel in laboratory condition and determine the stability, plasticity of asphaltic concrete using Marshall method.
