Conference of Officials and Employees of the University of Transport Technology (UTT) 2024

On January 30, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) solemnly held the 2024 Conference of Officials and Employees. The Conference served as an important occasion to review the achievements of the University in 2023 and to outline directions and plans for the 2024 academic year.

Representing the Ministry of Transport were Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Director of the Personnel and Organization Department, and Ms. Dang Thi Ly, Senior Officer of the Personnel and Organization Department. From the Vietnam Transport Trade Union were Mr. Quach Xuan Vinh, Vice President, and Mr. Doan Van Canh, Specialist of the Policy & Corporate Relations Division.

Representing the University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Khiem, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long, President; Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Van Lam, Vice President; Dr. Tran Ha Thanh, Vice President; Dr. Le Thu Sao, Chairwoman of the University Trade Union; together with 158 distinguished delegates representing nearly 700 officials and employees of the University.

On behalf of the University leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long, President, delivered the 2023 Annual Report and presented directions, tasks, and performance indicators for 2024 across all key areas, including academic affairs, quality assurance, student affairs, science–technology and international cooperation, innovation and entrepreneurship, infrastructure development, finance, inspection and legal affairs, and organizational and human resource development.

The President emphasized that most of the major tasks set for 2023 had been successfully completed, with several achieving outstanding results—such as organizational restructuring, position reallocation, achieving enrollment targets with high entry scores, and the timely expansion of land at the Hanoi campus.

Alongside these accomplishments, the report also identified existing limitations across various activities in 2023 for discussion and improvement in the upcoming period.

Regarding orientations for 2024, the President highlighted several key objectives: strengthening staff development and training; implementing policies to attract highly qualified personnel; continuing accreditation of academic programs; launching two new academic programs; improving the quality and scale of enrollment; enhancing student support and community engagement activities; promoting digital transformation in management; diversifying revenue sources to enhance institutional autonomy; striving to increase income for staff by at least 15%; expanding domestic and international cooperation; and prioritizing resources to complete the multifunctional building and landscape facilities at the expanded Hanoi campus.

During the discussion session, delegates expressed strong agreement with all reports presented, covering key issues such as: major tasks for 2024; implementation of grassroots democracy in 2023; compliance with working regulations, policies, and work norms; and financial management, internal expenditure regulations, and allocation of additional income in 2023…

At the Conference, Ms. Luu Thi Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the University Trade Union, announced the decisions and presented Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Transport Trade Union to five individuals for outstanding achievements in the past year.

The Conference adopted its Resolution with unanimous approval from all delegates. It called upon all officials and employees to continue upholding the spirit of solidarity, innovation, and dedication toward the common development of the University, thereby contributing to the successful realization of UTT’s goals, mission, and educational philosophy as outlined in its Development Strategy to 2025, with a vision toward 2045.
