The signing ceremony the discussion record for the Project “Enhancing the training capacity for the College of Transport”

On morning of may the 20th 2011, at the headquarter of the Ministry of Transport, the signing ceremony the record of discussion between Ministry of Transport of Vietnam, College of Transport and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the Project “Enhancing capacity for the College of Transport (which is now the University of Transport)” was conducted. Attending the ceremony, on the behalf of the Ministry of Transport were the Vice Minister Le Manh Hung; representatives from Departments of Personnel and Organization, International Cooperation, Planning and Investment, and Finance.

On the behalf of Japan, there were Mr. Tsuno Motonori – Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam in Hanoi; Mr Ken Furudoi – the First Secretary of Embassy of Japan and other representatives of JICA Hanoi, The Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Education and Training, University of Transport.

On behalf of Ministry of Transport, Vice Minister Le Manh Hung expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for their commitment on continuing to provide ODA for Vietnam even though they had experienced difficulties after the earthquake and tsunami. This signing ceremony is the evidence for that commitment.  Technical supporting Project on enhancing capacity for the College of Transport plays a very important role in improving facilities, raising teaching capacity, setting premise for high quality human resource training for the Transport industry.

Mr. Tsuno Motonori – Chief Representative of JICA in Hanoi also showed gratitude to the Ministry of Transport for their sharing, sympathy and donations for the people of Japan during their difficult times. He claimed to devote for the strategic partnership of the two countries. Mr Tsuno Motonori also hoped that the achievements of the project would be widely applied in all other universities and colleges of transport for the human resource training for the expressway and transportation infrastructure systems in Vietnam.

Tsuno Motonori and the Rector of the College of Transport – Mr. Do Ngoc Vien signed the record of discussion between Ministry of Transport of Vietnam, College of Transport and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the Project “Enhancing capacity for the College of Transport. The project will be conducted in 3 years with the total capital of 480 million Japanese Yen (equivalent to approximately 5.8 million US Dollars) funded by the Government of Japan. The objectives of the project are to help the University to enhance the human resource training capacity for the transport industry and manage, operate the highway network in Vietnam by innovating the curriculum, teaching method, creating new subjects; supplying new experimental equipment, encouraging lecturers to study and improve their capacity in Japan.
