Press Conference and Group Draw for the UTT Open Football Tournament 2026

In celebration of the 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – March 26, 2026), on March 18, 2026, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) organized the Press Conference and Group Draw for the UTT Open Football Tournament 2026, officially launching an expanded-season tournament aimed at promoting sportsmanship, physical training, solidarity, cooperation, and exchange among students from universities across Hanoi.

Attending the event, on behalf of the University were Dr. Phạm Quang Dũng – Deputy Head of the Office of Academic Affairs; Mr. Phùng Công Dũng – Secretary of the Youth Union; Mr. Nguyễn Huy Hùng – Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union; Mr. Lại Bảo Tân – President of the Student Association, along with representatives of the six participating teams and a large number of interested students.

The UTT Open Football Tournament 2026 brings together six teams from prestigious universities and academies, including: UTT FC – University of Transport Technology; DNU FC – Dai Nam University; PTIT FC – Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology; AOF FC – Academy of Finance; TLU FC – Thang Long University; TUU FC – Trade Union University. All teams are highly motivated and are expected to deliver exciting and competitive matches.

Speaking at the event, Phùng Công Dũng – Secretary of the University Youth Union, representing the Organizing Committee, emphasized that the tournament is not only a sports playground but also an opportunity for students to improve physical fitness, foster teamwork, demonstrate competitive spirit, and challenge their own limits. The event contributes to promoting positive values and building a generation of dynamic, creative, and ambitious students.

At the press conference, the Organizing Committee announced the tournament regulations, competition format, organization plan, and list of participating teams. The group draw was conducted publicly and transparently, determining matchups for two group-stage brackets. From the group stage, the top four teams with the best performance will advance to the next round.

According to the plan, the UTT Open Football Tournament 2026 will officially take place from March 21 to March 26, 2026, at the UTT football field. The matches are expected to bring exciting gameplay, impressive performances, and memorable moments.
