UTT Strengthens Industry Engagement in Transportation Engineering Technology Education
On 05 June 2026, at the Main Hall of the University of Transport Technology (UTT), the Faculty of Civil Engineering successfully organized the seminar entitled "Enterprises and Students of the Transportation Engineering Technology Program." The event served as a practical initiative to strengthen connections among the University, enterprises, and students, while supporting students in gaining exposure to real working environments, career orientation, and internship and employment opportunities after graduation.
Attending the program were Dr. Nguyen Van Lam – Vice Rector of the University; Dr. Ngo Quoc Trinh – Head of the Academic Affairs Office; Dr. Tran Ngoc Hung – Director of the Institute of Railway and Transport Technology and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering; Dr. Phung Ba Thang – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering; M.A. Dong Van Phuc – Deputy Director of the Institute of Railway and Transport Technology; together with faculty leaders, lecturers from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, and a large number of students from various cohorts.
Overview of the program
The program notably featured the participation of representatives from 10 enterprises operating in the fields of transportation, construction, and infrastructure, including: Truong Son Construction Corporation; Chodai & Kiso-Jiban Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Truong Son Consulting; Trung Chinh Trading and Construction Co., Ltd.; Vietnam Expressway Consultants Joint Stock Company (VECC); Thang Long Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company; Tan Phat Joint Stock Company; Thanh Phat Construction Joint Stock Company; Phuong Thanh Transport Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company; and Gia Xay Dung Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Association of Construction Economics.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Tran Ngoc Hung emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between universities and enterprises in training high-quality human resources to meet the development needs of the transportation sector in the context of digital transformation and international integration. The Faculty of Civil Engineering consistently focuses on linking educational activities with professional practice, creating opportunities for students to gain early exposure to the corporate environment and enhance their professional competencies while still studying at the University.

During the seminar, representatives from participating enterprises shared valuable insights into workforce recruitment demands, expectations for newly graduated engineers, and the professional and soft skills required in today's workplace. In addition, enterprises introduced internship and employment opportunities, human resource development policies, and emerging trends in the fields of transportation, construction, and infrastructure.

One of the highlights that attracted significant student interest was the interactive Q&A session with enterprise representatives. Numerous questions regarding professional skills, recruitment criteria, career development pathways, and domestic and international employment opportunities were openly addressed by experts and recruiters, who provided practical advice based on their extensive experience.

As part of the program, participating enterprises awarded scholarships and gifts to students with outstanding academic achievements, demonstrating their commitment and social responsibility in supporting the education and development of future human resources.

Another key highlight of the event was the enterprise–student networking activity held at recruitment consultation booths and company information stands. Here, students had the opportunity to engage directly with recruiters, learn more about working environments, workforce demands, internship programs, and career opportunities aligned with their fields of study. The activity attracted considerable interest and active participation from students.

The seminar "Enterprises and Students of the Transportation Engineering Technology Program" concluded successfully, contributing to the strengthening of ties between the University and enterprises, and creating an effective bridge between academic training and the practical demands of the labor market. It also provided students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering with valuable opportunities to gain deeper insights into their future careers, shape their professional aspirations, and better prepare themselves for integration and development after graduation.
