Meeting to Commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 36th Anniversary of the All-People’s National Defence Day

On 19 December 2025, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) held a commemorative meeting marking the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People’s Army (22 December 1944 – 22 December 2025) and the 36th anniversary of the All-People National Defense Day (22 December 1989 – 22 December 2025).
This meaningful event aimed to revisit the nation’s proud traditions, honor the contributions of previous generations, and foster patriotism and a sense of community responsibility among UTT staff members, lecturers, and students.

The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof., Dr. Vũ Ngọc Khiêm – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council; members of the University Board of Management; representatives of the University Military Command; the Center for National Defense and Security – Physical Education; the Veterans’ Association; the University self-defense forces; and representatives of mass organizations and functional units.

In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, participants reflected on the 81-year journey of building, fighting, and growing of the Vietnam People’s Army—a loyal and resilient military force that has consistently fulfilled its mission of safeguarding national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Delivering remarks at the meeting, Assoc. Prof., PhD Vũ Ngọc Khiêm – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council, respectfully acknowledged and expressed deep gratitude for the immense contributions and sacrifices made by earlier generations in the cause of national defense. He emphasized that, in recent years, the University of Transport Technology has implemented numerous practical activities closely linked to the armed forces, with particular focus on national defense and security education for students. Notably, training and capacity-building activities at the Center for National Defense and Security – Physical Education at the Phú Thọ campus have contributed significantly to cultivating discipline, responsibility, organizational awareness, and civic resilience among students in the new era. These achievements clearly demonstrate the dedication of lecturers, staff members, veterans, and personnel engaged in national defense activities at the University, making an important contribution to the comprehensive development of UTT students.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Thanh, representative of the Center for National Defense and Security – Physical Education, presented a summary report on the activities of the University Military Command over the past year. The report highlighted key achievements in national defense and security education, the development of the self-defense force, and the organization of training and student drills in accordance with approved plans. It also identified key tasks to be continued in the coming period to meet mission requirements in the new context.

Within the framework of the program, the Veterans’ Association of the University of Transport Technology announced the decision to admit 07 new members who are staff members, public employees, and workers of the University. Strengthening the Association’s organizational structure not only enhances its capacity but also affirms its role and standing in the University’s political and social life, while promoting patriotism, responsibility, and political integrity among UTT staff, lecturers, and veterans.

The commemorative meeting was held in a spirit of unity, solemnity, and warmth, contributing to the cultivation of moral values, patriotism, and civic responsibility among the younger generation, and further promoting comprehensive learning and training activities at the University of Transport Technology.
