UTT Rector Attends the 3rd National Forum on Digital Economy and Digital Society Development and Signs Cooperation Agreement on Implementing Port Logistics Training Based on Virtual Reality Model

On the morning of December 20, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính chaired the 3rd National Forum on Digital Economy and Digital Society Development under the theme “Developing a comprehensive and inclusive digital economy and digital society to achieve double-digit GDP growth in the 2026–2030 period.” PGS.TS Nguyễn Hoàng Long, Rector of the University of Transport Technology (UTT), attended the Forum.

The Forum is a significant event aimed at thoroughly disseminating and concretizing major guidelines and policies of the Party and the State on the development of the digital economy and digital society; at the same time, it promotes linkages among the State – Universities – Enterprises in training human resources to serve rapid and sustainable economic growth.

In his address at the Forum, the Prime Minister emphasized the requirement to accelerate comprehensive digital transformation across all sectors, in which education and training play a pivotal role in developing high-quality human resources. He particularly highlighted the need to innovate training models toward closer alignment with real-world practice, strengthen cooperation among the State – Universities – Enterprises, and consider this a fundamental solution to improving labor productivity and national competitiveness.

At the Forum, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính and other leaders witnessed the launching ceremony of the program “Learning from Practical Work”—a tripartite cooperation model involving the State – Universities – Enterprises. Within this framework, the University of Transport Technology signed a cooperation agreement with CEH Information Technology Services Company to jointly develop and implement a port logistics training program based on a Virtual Reality (VR) model.

The cooperation program aims to concretize the policy of promoting digital transformation in education and training in close connection with enterprises’ practical needs, thereby contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for Vietnam’s logistics and maritime sectors. Through the VR-based training model, UTT students are provided with direct access to port operation and exploitation processes, logistics chain management, digital technology applications, and digital transformation in a simulated environment closely reflecting real production and business activities at seaports.

This model is oriented as an enterprise-commissioned training approach tailored to the needs of logistics enterprises operating at Vietnamese seaports, helping to narrow the gap between training and employment. It enables graduates to quickly integrate and work effectively in the digitalized environment of the port logistics sector. This also demonstrates UTT’s strong commitment to innovating training models, integrating education with digital transformation, and meeting the requirements of digital economy and digital society development in the new period.
