Seminar on Construction, management and operation Expressway and Sharing experience from Vietnam – Japan

In the morning of Oct 18th, 2016, University of Transport and Technology (UTT) in cooperation with Tokyo Engineering Expressway Company (Nexco), conducted a seminar on “Construction, management and operation Expressway” to share knowledge, experience and  and technology in construction, management and operation expressway of Japan and Vietnam.

Attending the seminar, from Nexco were Mr. Shunji Hata – Director of Corporate Strategy Department and some experts. From UTT were Dr. Vu Ngoc Khiem – Vice Rector, Dr. Ngo Quoc Trinh – Head of Dept. of S&IC, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Vi – President of Faculty of Civil Engineering Council, Dr. Ngo Thi Thanh Huong – Vice Head of Faculty of Civil Engineering, Dr. Pham Quoc Doanh – Vice Head of Faculty of Civil Engineering and professors, doctors, lecturers and students.  

In the past couple of years, UTT has had a tightly cooperation with Nexco on training young lecturers of UTT, updating new technology in Japanese expressway construction, organizing Seminars to exchange experience in construction, management and operation transport.

The Seminar on “Construction, management and operation Expressway” is one of the activities in exchanging experience, sharing knowledge and having tighter cooperation on science researching and technology transferring of expressway construction from Japan and Vietnam.

The presentations focused on the key issues such as regular maintenance experience, preventive expressway maintenance in Japan; New technique for redressing pavement peeling, pavement treatment by Microsurfacing in Vietnam; Expressway operation to avoid traffic jam; New technology in operation, management and maintenance expressway in Japan.

In the seminar, scientists and experts have discussed, brought out the common concerns and answer the questions from the audience to exchange knowledge and deeper understanding about technology related to the research subjects.

In the end of the seminar, Dr. Vu Ngoc Khiem – Vice Rector highly appreciate the contents and qualities of the presentations and brought out the directions for the scientific research cooperation activities and transferring technology between UTT and the company in the next period.
