University of Transport Technology has received the delegation of DEEP, Korea
In the afternoon of Oct 11st, 2016, University of Transport Technology has received and worked with the delegation of Development Experience Exchange Partnership (DEEP) from Korea to Vietnam and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The DEEP project has been agreed by the governments from both countries in the late of 2014 and run in 3 years with 3 big topics including: (i) High-quality Human Resources Development; (ii) Public Sector Reform; and (iii) Establish and improve the market economic system sponsored by KOICA.
DEEP Representative introduces the project
At the meeting, Dr. Kim Hyun Woong introduced UTT some general information about the project. This project will be launched in 3 years, each year focuses on performing 1 topic includes the studies about establishing transportation system with all functions that well-operated, to meet a target of supporting Vietnamese Government in running Transportation Development Strategy (2011 – 2020) and the Five-Year Transportation Development Plan (2016 – 2020), and establishing Transportation Development Strategy (2021 – 2030). In details, 2 sides discussed about related issues in training programs of the DEEP project (planning, classrooms, equipment, etc.); examining classrooms and expected workshop classrooms; examining the demands of training programs (in field of: railway, construction, electricity, information signals, rolling stock, transport policy, environment, etc.).
At the meeting, Dr. Ngo Quoc Trinh – Head of Dept. of Science, Technology and International Cooperation shared with the delegation from Korea the achievements as well as restricted problems of the Five-Year Transportation Development Plan (2011 – 2015) and the orientations, targets in the next Five-year plan; Dr. Ngo Quoc Trinh thanked Dr. Kim Hyun Woong and the delegation for visiting and working with UTT and committed to cooperate, share information with Research team of the project so it can have the best results./.
