OBJECTIVES

1

Research on the Use of Manufactured Sand, Thermal Power Fly Ash, and Finely Ground Blast Furnace Slag for Producing Chloride- and Sulphate-Resistant Cement Concrete for Marine Port Structures in Vietnam

DT2303 Ho Si Lanh Jan 2023 – Mar 2024 Ministry of Transport
  • Development of chloride- and sulphate-resistant concrete with a compressive strength of at least 40 MPa (grade C40), chloride ion penetration resistance below 1000 Coulombs, and high resistance to sulphate chemical attack (length change of cement mortar specimens after 6 months less than 0.1%).
  • Preparation of draft guidelines for concrete mix design considering chloride and sulphate durability.
  • Proposal of quality assessment procedures for chloride- and sulphate-resistant concrete.
2

Research on the Application of Seismic Rubber Bearings for Bridge Structures in Vietnam

DT2308 Phung Ba Thang Jan 2023 – Dec 2023 Ministry of Transport
  • Development of a signal transmission and acquisition system and software for vibration data analysis; mastery of manufacturing technology, contributing to the localization of vibration measurement equipment and capacity building of technical staff.
  • Support for training and scientific research in evaluating the technical condition of bridge structures using vibration-based analysis methods at the University of Transport Technology.
3

Research on the Application of the Vietnam Road Safety Assessment and Rating System in Accordance with the Global Road Safety Assessment Programme Standards

DT2302 Ngo Thi Thanh Huong Jan 2023 – Dec 2023 Ministry of Transport
  • Development of principles, approaches, and methodologies for establishing road safety assessment and rating criteria in accordance with the Global Road Safety Assessment Programme standards.
  • Identification of the levels of influence of various factors on road safety assessment in consistency with iRAP and other research outputs of the project.
  • Proposal of methods for applying road safety assessment criteria within the star rating system.

Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement – Construction and Acceptance – Part 5: Hot In-Plant Recycled Dense-Graded Asphalt Concrete Using RAP Content from Over 25% to 50%

TC242 Dao Phuc Lam Jan 2023 – Dec 2023 Ministry of Transport

4.1 This standard specifies technical requirements for materials, mixture design, production, construction, inspection, and acceptance of hot in-plant recycled dense-graded asphalt concrete using reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) content greater than 25% up to 50%, incorporating conventional asphalt binder and rejuvenating additives.

4.2 This standard applies to the construction, repair, rehabilitation, and upgrading of pavement structures for highways (in accordance with TCVN 4054) of class III and below, rural roads (TCVN 10380), and urban roads (TCVN 13592).
