UTT Participates in the China (Guangxi) – ASEAN Conference and Becomes a Member of the Center for Innovation & Cooperation on AI in Transportation
On September 15–16, 2025, the Guangxi Department of Education hosted the China (Guangxi) – ASEAN Conference on Vocational Education Cooperation and Development in Nanning.
The conference gathered a large number of representatives from ministries, government agencies, universities, research institutes, and major enterprises from China and ASEAN countries, including many senior leaders.
Overview of the Conference
On the Chinese side, participants included representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Department of Transport of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, provincial education and transport departments, and leaders of key universities and institutes such as Beijing Jiaotong University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Guilin University of Electronic Technology, Guizhou University of Technology, Shanghai University of Transport, and Guangxi Institute of Transport, among others.
The conference also welcomed representatives from major corporations and enterprises in technology and transportation, including Huawei, ZTE, China State Construction Engineering Corporation, Long Chuan (Beijing), and Wanxing Aviation Group.
From ASEAN, participants included leaders of universities, academies, and enterprises from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. From Vietnam, representatives came from several transport-focused educational institutions, including the University of Transport Technology (UTT), Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, and the Vietnam Aviation Academy.

The conference featured over 50 presentations by education management bodies, universities, colleges, research institutes, and enterprises from China and ASEAN countries. Discussions centered on opportunities, cooperation programs, and the development of vocational education within the China–ASEAN community, particularly in training for the AI era.
The University of Transport Technology (UTT) sent two representatives – Dr. Nguyễn Thị Loan and MSc. PhD Candidate Lưu Thị Thu Hà – who presented at the thematic session “Fostering Innovation in Vocational Training in the Transport Sector in the AI Era.”

As part of the conference, the Center for Innovation & Cooperation on AI in Transportation was officially launched. UTT was honored to become an official member of the Center – a milestone affirming the University’s position in international cooperation on artificial intelligence and smart transportation.

With the principle of “extensive consultation, joint contribution, shared benefits, and shared success”, the Center aims to establish a high-level platform for international cooperation between China and ASEAN in AI and transportation. It promotes close collaboration among universities, research institutes, and enterprises, advances technological innovation, accelerates research transfer, facilitates mutual recognition of standards, expands practical applications, and develops high-quality human resources. Through these efforts, the Center contributes to building a modern, safe, green, intelligent, and sustainable transportation system, while fostering high-quality economic development in the China–ASEAN region.
Becoming an official member of the Center for Innovation & Cooperation on AI in Transportation marks an important step forward for UTT, opening opportunities for cooperation in research, training, technology transfer, and high-quality human resource development in smart transportation.
This achievement not only affirms the University’s standing in the international education and research cooperation network but also makes a practical contribution to the sustainable development of the transport sector and the national economy in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
