“The Moneyverse 2026” Energizes UTT with Over 300 Student Participants

On March 12, 2026, the Faculty of Transport Economics – University of Transport Technology (UTT) organized the university-level casting round of the reality TV program “The Moneyverse 2026” to select outstanding representatives for the national casting round. This marks the second year UTT has participated in this engaging nationwide academic playground on finance and investment knowledge, initiated by VTV Times – Vietnam Television. The program attracted more than 300 students from various majors within the Faculty, creating a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere.

The event welcomed distinguished guests who also served as judges, including: Phạm Công Tố, journalist, editor and MC of Vietnam Television, General Director of The Moneyverse Season 3; Lê Thị Ngọc Anh, financial market product development expert; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thùy Dương, Head of the Editorial Board, Journal of Science and Transport Technology, UTT.

Representing the University were Dr. Nguyễn Văn Lâm – Vice Rector; Dr. Ngô Quốc Trinh – Head of the Office of Academic Affairs; Dr. Hoàng Thị Hồng Lê – Dean of the Faculty of Transport Economics, along with leaders of various units, lecturers, experts, and scientists.

Overview of the program

Speaking at the event, Dr. Nguyễn Văn Lâm – Vice Rector emphasized the importance of equipping students with personal financial management knowledge and skills in the current economic context. Participation in “The Moneyverse” not only offers a valuable academic platform but also helps students enhance financial literacy, develop critical thinking, and strengthen presentation and teamwork skills—essential competencies for young people in an increasingly integrated world.

At the university-level casting round, contestants competed in three main rounds: Quiz – Persuasion – Debate, featuring diverse challenges to assess knowledge, thinking, and reasoning abilities.

In the first round, the quiz “Knowledge Breakthrough”, over 300 students answered 20 multiple-choice questions within 20 seconds via the Kahoot platform using personal devices. The questions covered topics such as personal finance, economics, investment, expenditure management, and technology in the data era. Based on accuracy and response speed, the system selected the top 6 contestants: Đỗ Thế Nguyên - Class 74DCTN24, Chu Minh Hiệp - Class 74DCTN24, Nguyễn Nam Anh - Class 74DCTN24, Trương Vũ Tú Khuê - Class 76DCVL22, Lê Hữu Hoàng Sơn - Class 75DCHQ22, and Phan Thị Hòa - Class 75DCTN24.

In addition, the Organizing Committee selected 6 outstanding contestants from the video submission round themed “Am I truly mastering my money?”: Nguyễn Minh Ngọc - Class 74DCTN22, Nguyễn Tiến Lộc - Class 74DCTN21, Phạm Thị Vân Anh - Class 74DCTN21, Tống Hoàng Phúc - Class 76DCKT24, Trần Thị Ngọc - Class 75DCHQ22, and Lê Nguyên Thảo Nhi - Class 76DCLG23. A total of 12 contestants advanced to Round 2.

In Round 2 – Persuasion “Why me?”, each contestant had 45 seconds to present before the judges, showcasing their abilities, personal stories, and aspirations to conquer The Moneyverse. Based on their performances, the judges selected the top 6 contestants to advance to the debate round.

With solid knowledge in finance and economics and confident presentation styles, contestants delivered impressive performances, demonstrating logical thinking, analytical skills, and personal perspectives on financial management in the digital age. Many shared real-life experiences in managing expenses, saving, and investing, while expressing strong aspirations to learn, challenge themselves, and prove their capabilities on a national academic stage.

In Round 3 – Debate “Intellectual Courage”, the 6 finalists were divided into two teams and drew lots to argue for or against the motion: “In the digital era, data has become a more critical resource than capital and labor in economic development.” Each team had 2 minutes to present their arguments and participated in two rounds of open debate, showcasing reasoning, rebuttal, and defense skills before the judging panel.

At the end of the debate, the judges selected the top 2 outstanding contestants to represent UTT at the national casting round: Nguyễn Minh Ngọc - Class 74DCTN22 and Trần Thị Ngọc - Class 75DCHQ22.

In addition to the competition, the program featured lively interactive sessions between students and guest speakers. The auditorium buzzed with excitement as students actively asked questions about personal finance, investment trends in the digital era, and essential skills for effective money management.

“The Moneyverse” is the first reality TV program in Viet Nam focusing on personal financial management education for students. Through the program, young participants gain practical knowledge on topics such as earning, spending, saving, investing, and asset protection, while developing financial thinking and problem-solving skills in real-life economic situations.

UTT’s continued participation in “The Moneyverse” not only highlights the dynamism and confidence of UTT students but also reflects the University’s orientation toward building a practice-oriented learning environment, enabling students to develop comprehensively in both professional knowledge and life skills, and to be well-prepared for the labor market in the new era.
