From Lecture Halls to Enterprises: Study Visit to FM Supply Chain Vietnam
With the aim of strengthening practice-oriented training and enabling students to gain exposure to a professional working environment in the fields of logistics and supply chain management, students of Cohort K76, majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Transport Technology (UTT) participated in a field study visit to FM Supply Chain Vietnam (FM Logistic) on 17 December 2025. The visit involved students from classes 76DCLG21 and 76DCLG22, accompanied by lecturers from the Logistics Division, Faculty of Transport Economics.

FM Supply Chain Vietnam is a wholly owned subsidiary of the FM Logistic Group, with its regional headquarters located in Singapore, and is recognized as one of the leading third-party logistics (3PL) service providers in Vietnam. With an extensive network of local transport partners nationwide and a fully digitalized operational system—including Warehouse Management System (WMS), Transportation Management System (TMS), LMDS, Order Management System (OMS), and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions—the company delivers competitive and sustainable supply chain solutions to enterprises across Vietnam, particularly in the sectors of Modern Retail, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Cosmetics, and Industry.

Within the framework of the course “Introduction to Logistics and Supply Chain Management”, K76 students were introduced to an overview of FM Supply Chain’s operational model. They directly observed the company’s modern warehousing facilities, including processes of goods receiving, storage, and outbound operations, as well as the application of advanced technologies in warehouse management and supply chain coordination. Through presentations and discussions with company representatives, students gained deeper insights into the strategic role of supply chain management in cost optimization, service quality enhancement, and strengthening enterprise competitiveness.

Throughout the visit, students from classes 76DCLG21 and 76DCLG22 demonstrated a serious, proactive, and inquisitive learning attitude, actively engaging in discussions and raising numerous questions related to logistics warehouse operations, professional skill requirements, job positions, internship opportunities, and career orientation in the supply chain sector. These questions were openly and comprehensively addressed by Mr. Nguyễn Bá Duy, representative of FM Supply Chain Vietnam, providing students with a practical and vivid perspective on working in an international logistics enterprise.

Through this field study visit to FM Supply Chain Vietnam, the University of Transport Technology continues to affirm its educational orientation of integrating theory with practice, strengthening university–industry linkages, and creating favorable conditions for students majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management to accumulate knowledge, professional skills, and readiness to meet labor market demands in the context of international integration and digital transformation.
