UTT Students Compete in the Mathematics Olympiad – Demonstrating Intellectual Rigor and Academic Excellence
With the aim of promoting learning and research in Mathematics among students, while identifying and nurturing outstanding talents for higher-level student Mathematics Olympiads, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) organized the University-level Student Mathematics Olympiad, attracting enthusiastic participation from students across faculties and academic programs.
The competition comprised two main categories—Algebra and Calculus—closely aligned with undergraduate curricula and designed with a high level of differentiation. Participants were required not only to master fundamental knowledge but also to demonstrate strong logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and flexible application of mathematical methods. Through this initiative, the competition contributed to enhancing the quality of learning in foundational mathematics courses, fostering a rigorous academic environment, and inspiring students’ interest in scientific research.
In the Algebra category, many students showcased outstanding competence and confidence. The First Prize was awarded to Trần Văn Dũng (class 75DCHT21). Second Prizes were granted to Nghiêm Minh Huy (class 76DCVM21) and Đậu Thùy Trang (class 76DCTT23). In addition, the Organizing Committee presented Third Prizes and Encouragement Awards to students with excellent results, recognizing their efforts and serious academic commitment.
In the Calculus category, Nguyễn Tuấn Anh (class 75DCTT22) achieved the First Prize with an impressive performance. Second Prizes were awarded to Nguyễn Thị Hà Ly and Vũ Khánh Toàn (both from class 76DCTT23). Numerous other students received Third Prizes and Encouragement Awards, reflecting the consistent quality and academic depth of the Mathematics Olympiad movement across the University.
The results of this year’s University-level Student Mathematics Olympiad not only serve as well-deserved recognition of students’ sustained efforts but also highlight the effectiveness of mathematics teaching and academic mentoring at the University of Transport Technology. The competition provides an important basis for the University to continue selecting and training teams for upcoming national-level student Mathematics Olympiads.
Through this competition, UTT continues to affirm its commitment to comprehensive education, emphasizing strong foundations in basic sciences and integrating training with research, thereby contributing to the development of students with solid scientific thinking capable of meeting the growing demands of the workforce in the era of digital transformation and sustainable development.
